ZERO WASTE EVENTS
Help the planet and protect people and nature from toxic substances while contributing to the circular economy, when you participate in our popular Zero Waste Drop-Off events each Spring and Fall.
Organize a mini-collection with your friends, co-workers, neighbourhood, school, club or community group. Bonus! The more items we collect, the more funds we raise to support our work throughout the year! Contact Sue for tips and more information about this opportunity.

As part of the event day support crew you’ll help with set up, take down, welcoming community members ensuring a pleasant visit, providing directions, unloading, carrying and sorting electronic and other items, and other tasks as needed. YOUTH NETWORK
Our Youth Network (ages 14-24) connects you to volunteer opportunities with BG and other community groups, as well as monthly meetings (online and in-person), hikes, clean ups, invasive plant removals, social media and research opportunities, guest speakers, and more!
EVENT GREENING AMBASSADORS
Help attendees at local festivals and events get their waste into the correct containers. Most opportunities are outdoors in the Summer and Fall.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
If you enjoy speaking with the community, working outdoors, and helping out with a variety of tasks, consider volunteering to provide information, resources and educational, hands-on activities to community members at our Burlington Beach Eco Hub and other locations, primarily in late Spring, Summer and early Fall.
We are looking for a small diverse team to accompany our team members providing information, resources and educational, hands-on activities at our Burlington Beach Eco Hub and other locations, primarily in late Spring, Summer and early Fall.
This opportunity is suitable for adults of all ages, and for post-secondary and older high school students with communication skills, lots of energy, reliability, passion for the environment, responsibility and a willingness to learn. Formal related experience or education is not required.
If you are selected for this opportunity, we will ask you to commit to a schedule of weekday and/or weekend shifts for a two-month period. Training will be provided.

TREE PLANTING & CARE
Community members of all ages join us in the Spring for our popular hands-on Community Tree Planting, where we plant 500 trees in a local park, and also in our Fall Tree Loving Care event to care for the formerly planted trees.
To receive the registration link for our next tree planting and care events, be sure to subscribe to our monthly Eco News and follow us on social media. These activities are eligible for high school volunteer hours.
We also rely on a small crew of volunteers to support this event, lifting and moving trees in pots, helping with event set up and other tasks. Notice will be sent to those on the email lists for Youth Network and volunteer opportunity updates.
Please note that many BurlingtonGreen volunteer opportunities are available to those 14+ years of age. And a signed BurlingtonGreen waiver is required before most volunteer opportunities.
