Federal Election 2025

A federal election has been called for April 28, 2025, and to help inform your vote, we’ve invited all Burlington candidates to respond to our questionnaire comprised of 4 important questions (see below). We will post the responses from candidates after they are received on April 22nd.

Note: all candidates with contact information posted to their websites or on the Elections Canada website were sent invitations to complete the BurlingtonGreen questionnaire.

BurlingtonGreen is a non-partisan charity that supports stronger environmental protection and actions on climate, providing the local community with information, resources, and opportunities to help advance our mission. We do not endorse or oppose any political party or candidate in elections.

Questions asked:

QUESTION 1

What do you believe to be the greatest regional opportunity to mitigate climate change locally and if elected, what specific actions will you take to advance this opportunity?

QUESTION 2

If elected, how specifically, will you and your government help to protect nature and strengthen biodiversity in Canada and here in Burlington?

QUESTION 3

What is your view of a just transition of the economy away from fossil fuels and what changes towards a green recovery would you champion as an MP?

QUESTION 4

Given the environmental concerns associated with LNG, including methane leakage and GHG emissions, how would you approach designing a sustainable energy strategy for Canada that minimizes its environmental impact and achieves our climate action goals?
