Join with fellow community members to take action for our environment and learn about local nature with a meaningful day of community engagement! The Rotary Club of Burlington Central and BurlingtonGreen invite you to a free Spring Eco Action at the Beach event, where we’ll work together to clean up our beautiful shoreline, learn about birds and pollinators in the dune ecosystem and participate in other eco-friendly fun that inspires sustainable living.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS AND SCHEDULE:
🐦 Bird Walk (8:00 am start – register below)
Learn about the interesting birds that live at the beach and those that migrate through our area each year. With avid birder Dave Tourchin from Bird Friendly Hamilton-Burlington.
🌊 Beach Litter Clean-up (9:30 am start – register below)
Learn about plastic pollution and help remove litter, plastic waste and debris from Burlington Beach, ensuring a healthier habitat for wildlife and a cleaner shoreline for all to enjoy.
🐝 Pollinator-Friendly Nature Walk (11:00 am start – register below) Explore the beauty of Burlington Beach on a guided walk with conservation science educator Debra Toor. Learn about native pollinators like butterflies and fascinating bees, as well as the plants and animals that cooperate with them. Information about the Butterfly Way Ranger program.
🌱 Eco Action Activities (9:00 am – 2:00 pm – drop in!)
Get hands-on with fun, family-friendly activities such as making your own eco-pledge button, spin-the-wheel eco-trivia game, and more interactive experiences promoting sustainability.
🔎 Local Climate Action Resources (9:00 am – 2:00 pm – drop in!)
Discover ways to reduce your carbon footprint and take action for a greener future.
🌍 Fun for All Ages!
A great opportunity to meet other community members, connect with nature, engage in interactive eco-friendly activities together, and learn how to have a lasting impact for a brighter future.

Activities are rain or shine. Participant accessibility needs to be shared in advance with BurlingtonGreen, please. Some eco-action offerings and resources will be indoors if inclement weather. (Note that our indoor space is not fully accessible, requiring stairs to enter.)
