Maureen grew up in Burlington leaving to attend university then work in Toronto before making her way
west to Calgary then Vancouver working with various non-profit organizations from health care
research, credit unions, post-secondary education, to small business development.
Prior to returning to Burlington in 2019 to be closer to family and find her next adventure, she travelled
the world for a year: 24 countries, 14 months, 1 carry-on backpack. It’s a cool story!
A Certified Association Executive (CAE), she works in the local tourism & economic development sectors
stewarding Burlington’s role as a destination for business, visitors and residents.
An active member and Board of Director with the Halton Outdoor Club, cycling is Maureen’s happy
place. You’ll find her riding to work year-round and on Summer trips with the club. In the Winter,
snowshoe trails beckon.

In Burlington, our work with the community takes place within the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and
we recognize this land as being home and the traditional territory to Indigenous people since time
immemorial.
We honour all past and present First Nation, Métis and Inuit people, and we recognize their leadership in protecting and caring for Mother Earth. We join them in honouring and respecting the land, waters, plants, animals, four directions, and all of the wonderful elements of creation that exist.
BurlingtonGreen has much to learn from Indigenous People and we encourage everyone to continually learn from and about the Indigenous community where you live, and how we can each meaningfully honour the calls to action for Truth and Reconciliation.
