TLC (TREE LOVING CARE) WORKSHOP

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23RD @ 9:00 AM AT MILLCROFT PARK

Open to local residents, students, groups, business employees, while space remains, this popular tree-ific event is fun, rewarding, and educational too!

BONUS: there will be a FREE tree giveaway for some lucky participants to take to their Burlington homes to plant!

Hosted by BurlingtonGreen and the City of Burlington Forestry Department, this year’s TLC (Tree Loving Care) event will bring community members together to carry out some hands-on stewardship activities at a former tree planting location at Millcroft Park, in Burlington. Together we will do a tree inventory, learn how to properly plant a tree, create and scatter some native seed balls, and more.

The TLC event requires advance registration and will take place rain or shine.

Acknowledging – Honouring – Acting

In Burlington, our work with the community takes place within the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, and
we recognize this land as being home and the traditional territory to Indigenous people since time
immemorial.

We honour all past and present First Nation, Métis and Inuit people, and we recognize their leadership in protecting and caring for Mother Earth. We join them in honouring and respecting the land, waters, plants, animals, four directions, and all of the wonderful elements of creation that exist.

BurlingtonGreen has much to learn from Indigenous People and we encourage everyone to continually learn from and about the Indigenous community where you live, and how we can each meaningfully honour the calls to action for Truth and Reconciliation.
