Help Burlington be more Butterfly-Friendly

Did you know that some Burlington residents and BurlingtonGreen team members are part of a national Butterflyway Rangers project?

The David Suzuki Foundation Butterflyway Project is a volunteer-led movement that’s bringing nature home to neighbourhoods throughout Canada, one butterfly-friendly planting at a time.

Wild pollinators such as butterflies and bees are crucial to human survival. Climate change, development and widespread pesticide use are compromising their habitat and food sources. The Butterflyway Project aims to help people step up efforts to help pollinators find food and shelter. ( David Suzuki Foundation)

To date, more than a thousand Butterflyway Rangers from hundreds of communities have helped to plant 85,000+ butterfly-friendly wildflowers, created 6000+ pollinator patches for wild bees and butterflies…and more!

We would love for you to participate in growing a more butterfly-friendly Burlington. Visit our new pollinator garden at the BG Eco Hub at the beach, and explore our Green Up at Home webpage to learn more and to participate!
